I could take all of the credit for the work that I've done for the past 13 years, but the truth is much more humbling. My love of photography is a combination of life experiences. At the age of twelve, I picked up a camera for the first time as a class elective. During that time I'd tried art, which stemmed from a love of comics; I wasn't any good though. I moved over to the next class which was an intro to the world of black and white film photography. I learned everything from composition and settings to film development. The instructor taught fundamentals that still aid me til this day.
It had been 14 years since I'd taken a photography class or picked up a camera. It wasn't until the birth of my firstborn son that I rushed to the nearest Target store to buy my first camera. Picture after picture brought back the lessons learned some years prior. I guess it's safe to say my love for family, reignited my love for photography. I take every picture with the same passion and intent for perfection as the first day that my son entered my world.
